It took the better part of two days, but the web site changes are done, for now.

I’ve put up a new site for the base domain at http://www.asajay.com that reflects the part time business that Shelley and I take care of. It’s mostly to get started.

The old AsaJay dot com site is now athttp://www.asajay.com/oldasajay and has been seriously redone. All areas are now properly catagorized across a directory structure that makes sense, instead of having darn near everything in one directory. Each respective area now uses a specific template for page creation. The 351C Rebuild and Poetry pages are the most difficult to update, requiring changes to the template if anything is added. Not a real big deal though.

The changes also get rid of a lot of forward and back html that I had going. It was difficult to work with and simply required too much code work each time I made a new page. The current way, relies on the template to provide a menu of sorts, in the left pane. This way should work much better.

I added a quick page about my Jeep. I need to get more info up on that some day.

Updates to the 351C Rebuild are slow in coming. I didn’t take any time yet to finish those up. Even though they now appear in the new format, they still don’t contain any additional info on the projects completion, which happened some three years ago now. I really do need to get working on that at some point.

I dropped a lot of other miscellaneous stuff, like my Star Wars links, work links, and other such nonsense. Firstly, it was busted, due to a global search and replace I did some months ago; I had accidentally caused a lot of linkage to break. Secondly, it was just un-important to my pages, so I left it out.

I’ve decided that simple is better. I’ve been throwing away a ton of old pack-ratted junk. Old Software, old hardware, old books, old clothes, etc. You could say I’m just trying to clean up my life a little bit. And making my web site a bit easier to manage I’m sure will help tremendously. So work your way around the site and see what you think.

I just hear it, like the computer voice on Star Trek, “Access Denied”.

It’s a pain in the butt when you forget YOU’RE OWN STINKIN PASSWORD!

Good grief. Well then, now that that’s over, I can resume a normal life.

I’ll play more tomorrow, I am thrilled. This is so cool.
